i joke that my son, born in los angeles (at cedars-sinai, no less) has an astrological sign of west hollywood on the cusp of robertson with beverly center* rising.
we are two scorpios with birthdays a week apart. which is why we understand each other so well, at least until he hits puberty.
so i thought i’d post two astrological predictions for my birthday today.
from my hometown rag, the LA Times:
Horoscope: Nov. 21
November 21, 2007
By Holiday Mathis
Scorpio (Oct. 24-Nov. 21): Sure, in some regards, you are still innocent. But in others, you are sophisticated — or downright jaded. And what a pleasant surprise it is today when a pessimistic belief is proven wrong.
from the other hometown rag, the LA Weekly:
Forecast for Wednesday, November 21st, 2007
The last full day of Scorpio is geared toward having breakthrough conversations. With all the strikes going on around the world, the trine between Mercury and union-friendly Uranus should be a positive factor. Not that the assertive Aries moon is willing to compromise, but nonetheless, today’s lunar aspects are all favorable ones. Could it be that they generate high enough spirits to get us from one airport to another trouble free? Is it possible that the trip may turn out to be enjoyable? Mercury is our traveling deity, Uranus rules the skies, their trine aspect is supposed to be rewarding. Our fingers are crossed. Luna goes void for four hours early Thursday. By the time you get up, 4:18 a.m. PST/7:18 a.m. EST, the sensual, albeit hardworking Taurus moon will already be in the kitchen.
well, totally confusing. there’s a lot about MyAnus and that nasty case of pessimism, which might finally lift.
happy birthday, suzanne!
* translation: “cedars-sinai” (movie star hospital); “west hollywood” (trendoid neighborhood); “robertson” (street where the Beautiful People in l.a. shop); “beverly center” (a fancy shmancy mall where all the little size 0 starlets shop with their little dogs in tow)…basically, everything that “L.A.” is supposed to be and we’re not
